Boris Samoylovich Golovchiner
Boris Samoylovich Golovchiner, DOB 14.07.1925. In 1943-1945, he served with the Paratroopers, made 12 jumps, Guards private. In final year of WW2 due to character of the battle ground the Soviet Supreme Commander decided to form the 9th Combined Force Army from paratrooper regiments. His unit took part in the liberation of Budapest, Bratislava and Vienna, where he was seriously wounded. Later he faced medical retirement. He was awarded the highly respected among the rank and file Order of Glory (3rd grade), Order of the Patriotic War and Medal “For the Combat deeds”.
