Victor Vladimirovich SEMENOV

    Col (Retd.) Victor Vladimirovich SEMENOV, DOB 11.11.1928, was born in Moscow. In February 1945 16-year-old boy ran away from home to the front line units. Through many adventures he managed to infiltrate into East Prussia and volunteered for an infantry unit and took part in the Battle of Konigsberg.  After the war he joined the Military Academy of Communications and was commissioned lieutenant in the airborne troops. He took part in several military exercises of airborne infantry making 120 parachute jumps. He was awarded the Order of the Patriotic War and the Medal "For the Capture of Konigsberg". He retired from the military service in Sept.1979.Chairman of the Veterans Council of the Moscow North-Western administrative district.
